In May 2017, HWS was awarded with an order for a completely new moulding line for O/CAVA MECCANICA´s foundry in Ferrere (Asti - Italy). The flask size is 940 x 940 x 400+60/350 mm with a maximum capacity of 200 moulds per hour. The line is equipped with a twin moulding machine type ZFA-SD 5 with air flow SEIATSU and multi-ram piston squeezing, combined with the developments in view of pressing cope and drag from the pattern side with SEIATSU.plus. It is a full replacement of the old moulding machine and line installed in 1990 .
First concept meetings with O/CAVA and HWS already took place about 3,5 years ago. Different scenarios have been discussed to arrive finally at the approval of a new concept of moulding line with vertical and horizontal electro-mechanical drive systems and the cooling inside the cooling house was changed to double cooling jackets in welded structure.
Just two years ago, O/CAVA awarded HWS with an order to replace the existing Mecana pouring automat. Nine months later, the new HWS pouring automat passed the final acceptance test. Especially during the phase of designing, installation and commissioning, both companies affirmed that this partnership shall be further expanded, and together they teamed up to rebuild the heart of the foundry, i.e. the moulding line !!
