Who does not know him in German-speaking Europe and beyond? Dr. Wolfgang Knothe, the long-standing head of research and development at Franken Guss and Sachsen Guss, was awarded the Innovation Prize of the German Foundry Industry during GIFA.
Laudator Dr. Erwin Flender paid detailed tribute to Knothe, the specialist for spheroidal graphite cast iron, and described him as an outstanding expert.
Wolfgang Kothe, who learned his basics at the Technical University of Freiberg, is a highly esteemed expert on materials, and he is particularly fond of cast materials.
The cheerful Knothe has been able to help many foundries with his knowledge and expertise, and to the delight of all the deserving masses he received this tribute.
Dr. Wolfgang Knothe, that is certainly a life with castings and whoever has the chance to meet him in person will be rewarded with a firework of expertise and really good stories from the industry and will experience a person who, despite his great experience, still thinks curiously and with an eye to the future.
