EuroMold 2010: First After Show Report
Prime Minister of Portugal, José Sócrates visits Portuguese Moldmakers at Euromold
The Prime Minister of Portugal, José Socrates, and the Portuguese Minister for Economy, Innovation and Development, Vieira da Silva, visited December 2nd, the twelve Portuguese companies exhibiting in Euromold show held in Frankfurt.
This visit was organized in collaboration with CEFAMOL – The Portuguese Moldmakers Association and shows the recognition and notoriety of this industrial Sector worldwide. Since many years Portugal has been recognized by its added value and innovative solutions in the mouldmaking area and this official visit represents the confidence and proud that the Portuguese Government has on this high skilled industry.
During the visit, José Socrates, reinforced its commitment with Portuguese mouldmakers to support and facilitate their efforts on exports and internationalization processes and revealed his belief on the importance this strategic Sector for the development, sustainability and innovation of high tech and added value products not only in Portugal but all over Europe.
The meeting with Portuguese companies allowed the official signing of a “Memoradum of Understanding” between CEFAMOL, the Ministry of Economy and its official institutions to create new financial instruments to support the new business models of this Sector.
According with the President of CEFAMOL, Leonel Costa, the Portuguese exhibitors felt honored and proud with the visit, and this initiative reinforces the image and competitiveness of Portuguese mold Manufacturers in the international market recalling that Portugal exports approximately 90% of its production, namely to Europe, having Germany, France and Spain as its main clients.
The exhibitors mostly appreciated the support and motivation given by its Government to move forward and there’s a strong believe this initiative gives a new push to face the challenges of the market.
