Euromold - From a titanium gearshift to an intricate 21st century Fabergé egg
Hall 11: Unity of Rapid Manufacturing and Art
The product designer Lionel T. Dean will demonstrate digital and production design that revolutionary combine art, craft and design with the unique manufacturing method (Additive Manufacturing) in hall 11 at EuroMold, World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development, Nov. 29 Dec. 02, 2011, Frankfurt/Main.
EuroMold with its hall 11 is the most important market place for Rapid Technologies in Europe and has expanded its leading position further in 2011. The world's leading manufacturers, service providers and suppliers are represented here.
Among other works Dean also presents a 3D printed titanium gearshift as well as a sophisticatedly produced Faberge egg. Dean shows the result of development in which artists and designers have experimented more and more with digital design and manufacturing capabilities over the past ten years.
"Direct Digital Manufacturing offers much more than complex structures to creative industries: it is a revolution that will allow us to invent new relationships to both, the customers and the production", said Dean, whose work can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In contrast to mass production the direct production decreases the need for investment and allows the designers to response to niche markets or individual requirements.
Rapid technologies: High-class conference programme and special show
EuroMold presents in the fields of Rapid Technologies a high-class conference programme and a special show "e-Production for everyone" next to international leading exhibitors.
The globally respected International Wohlers Conference 2011 takes place for the 13th time at EuroMold under the motto "Design innovation from Additive Manufacturing". The latest developments and applications of generative process will be also highlighted at the "design + engineering forum" in hall 11 during the one day session "Rapid Prototyping".
Therefore, hall 11 is once again the innovation center for Rapid Technologies at EuroMold 2011. Worldwide leading companies present the latest materials, technologies and applications from stereo-lithography down to the metal laser sintering. The exhibition includes renowned companies such as 3D Systems, Alphacam, Concept Laser, EOS, FIT, FKM, Fraunhofer, Materialise, Objet, Realizer, MTT/Renishaw, SLM Solutions, Stratasys, VG Kunststofftechnik and Z-Corporation.
