With a significant assistance of public and the satisfaction of the exhibitor companies for the business done during the three days of the show, EXPOFUN 2010, 2nd International Exhibition of Products, Equipment, Supplies and Machines for Die Casting, took place from October 28th to 30th at Centro Costa Salguero in Buenos Aires, Argentina, simultaneously with COLFUN’10, 4th Latin American Congress of Die Casting.

Good Business and Satisfied Exhibitors

The exhibitors confirmed their satisfaction for the results obtained during the exhibition. “Our evaluation of the trade show is very good. There was a great attendance of public related to the sector. We made new business contacts with suppliers, as well as potential clients. We really managed to make new business contacts for the future”, says Enrique Sacco of Metalprod. Mora M. Frino, Director at J.G.F. & Co. S.A. emphasizes in the attendance of foreign visitors: “We made many international business contacts with companies from Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile and Uruguay. It is an unmissable opportunity to get in contact with businessmen from other regions”. Frino also stresses that “we can tell there are new companies in the market with a great will to learn the business and to incorporate technology”. There were 15 foreign exhibitors from countries such as Brazil, Italy, India, Spain, United States, Mexico, Germany and Switzerland. Francisco Franco Merlos of Nifra Comercial S.A. de C.V. from Mexico commented that “as we come from Mexico, our goal was to learn how the market is developed in Argentina and to make contact with local companies, as well as analyzing how our company can make business here. Furthermore, it gave us the chance to visit Argentina”.

The 1958 attendees that visited the Exhibition, that took place for the first time in Buenos Aires city, highlighted the wide range of technologies, products and services related to the foundry sector that were showcased by the 66 exhibitors.

High-qualified professionals and businessmen visited the show, interested in the market’s latest  development and trends. Foundrymen, engineers, architects, managers and researchers were some of the professions of the attendees, most of which develop executive and management positions at their companies.

It is also remarkable that 5% of the visitors came from abroad, from countries such as United States, Uruguay, Peru, Paraguay, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Spain, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Brazil and Bolivia.

COLFUN 2010

The participants to the 4th Latin American Congress of Die Casting were satisfied with the quality of the over 40 conferences and technical presentations that took place during the 3-day event.

Among the 80 experts that lectured at COLFUN were members of international associations such as the World foundry Organization, the Brazilian foundry Association and the Mexican Foundrymen Society, specialists from academic institutions like the School of engineering of the Universidad de Buenos Aires, INTEMA, CONICET, Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto, INTI División Fluidodinámica y  Universidad Autónoma de México, as well as professionals from local and international companies.

The excellent results obtained by the exhibitors and the magnificent academic exchange that took place at the Congress creates an important platform for the next edition, to be held in 2012.
