GGT 2012: Grand Foundry Technical Meeting
held by the Austrian, Swiss and German foundry associations in Salzburg.

After 2008, again there was a "major" meeting from 26 to 27. april 2012, jointly organized by:
Austrian foundry Institute (ÖGI), Association of Austrian foundry Specialist (VÖG), Department of foundry Technology (LfGk) at the University of Leoben and the Association of German foundry Specialist (VDG).
The conference was entitled "Cast the Future - Responding to global trends."
37 half-hour lectures were presented to 920 participants concerning innovative processes and advanced casting materials that will help Europe to secure their top position in the international competition. In addition 62 exhibitors from the foundry industry as well as foundry consultants gave a closer look to new developments.
Lars Steinheider, CEO of Buderus Guss was elected new President of the german association VDG and Dr. Erwin Flender, CEO of MAGMA is the new Head-CEO of VDG, taking over from Prof. Dr. Gotthard Wolf. On top of this he is also new Vice-President of the VDG and CEO technology of the german association BDG.
