Dubai – Successful Prelude for Middle East Foundry Summit

The first “Middle East Foundry Summit” was organized by the Indian Media “Metalworld” on July 20 and 21 in Dubai with participants from various countries like India, Germany, UK, South Africa, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Although the political correct definition for the Middle East Region is not so easy nowadays this event was a reliable approach to meet with foundries, suppliers and  consultants in Dubai, which could be a kind of interface for the Middle East market.

When automotive comes, then foundries are growing

The organizer presented divers speakers from the producing and supplying side and opened minds by panel discussions for different subjects in the Foundry industry.

Regarding the basic situation in Middle East Foundries panelists and participants considered that there are  different attitudes compared with the standards in Europe and the visions in India concerning energy costs and consumption, labour costs and efficiency and waste of material for instance and they agreed in  general,  that there is no doubt about the demands in quality  production and management.

As Franz Schroeder (ABP) started his high quality presentation, “we are looking for new growing markets” and V. Narasimhan (Brakes India) reported about his Dunes Oman LLC project, the attendees agreed in the basic  statement: “When automotive comes, then foundries are growing”.

With this in mind, there is absolutely demand for further discussions, meetings and future summits to find out what is a realistic prospective and what are their origin needs in Saudi Arabia, in UAE and all the other countries, which could be addressees of a Middle East Foundry Summit.
