Subcontracting for transport at Alumotive 2007

From 18th to 20th October 2007, Modena Fair will host the third edition of Alumotive.

The international exhibition of innovative solutions, subcontracting and components in aluminium and technological materials for the transport industry. The event is organised by AdExpo srl. With the managing director of the group, Luca Alberghini and Vice President Mario Conserva, we speak about the extraordinary performance in terms of growth of this Modena-based event, which in two years has doubled its exhibition space and visitor numbers, winning the appreciation of both the industrial and technical-scientific worlds.

634 companies, 10,684 visiting professional operators, 28 technical sessions, 32 endorsements and one section of the fair totally occupied: the figures for Alumotive justify speaking of a success. What are the factors which have determined these brilliant results?

First of all, Alumotive has bridged a gap in the international fair panorama. In fact it is the only exhibition in the world which brings together into a single series of exhibitions and conferences all the subcontractors for the auto, naval engineering, aeronautical, and mass and commercial transportation industries. For all operators in the sector, the show in Modena is an indispensable tool for acquiring technical updates and a privileged occasion for assessing the commercial offer on which the development and competitiveness of the transport industry depend.

What is the target of the exhibition?

Since this is highly specialised fair, it addresses mainly engineers, designers, heads of buying, technical directors, heads of engine development, quality systems and styling centres.

Is it by chance that the event is staged in Modena, the Italian capital of high performance cars, or is it the result of a careful strategy?

When the time came to choose the venue for the Alumotive fair, Modena emerged as the most intelligent option.

The vocation of the city, in the region of Emilia, is almost totally dedicated to mechanical engineering and engine technology for the transport sector - the ideal terrain for allowing our event to grow. And I will add to that: in two years we have created such synergy between Alumotive and the city that initiatives focusing on museums and science relating to cars and their technology have doubled.

How does this 2007 edition of Alumotive differ from the previous ones?

The first edition of Alumotive in 2003 was, like all débuts, a ‘general rehearsal’ and the results surprised even the organisers, to the extent that they began to believe in the initiative.

2005, the year of the second edition, was the year of consolidation and the confirmation that this fair is unique in its type and therefore so keenly awaited and visited. It was also the year of the huge success of the conference part which in 28 sessions concentrated the best in innovation and technology currently available on the market regarding subcontracting for the transport industry.

With these premises, we are now preparing to organise the third edition of Alumotive which will be the edition marked by growth and international development, thanks to the participation of more foreign countries and visitors from all over the world.

The feather in the cap of the 2005 edition was without doubt the conference element, with its numerous technical sessions and the wide variety of topics covered. What does the 2007 edition of the conference hold for operators?

In view of the great commitment and efforts applied in the preparation of the 2005 conference, rewarded by the enthusiasm and satisfaction of the participants, great attention will be paid to the technical sessions also in 2007. In particular, the focus will be on a widening of the topics covered, also thanks to the suggestions and demands of exhibitors.
