ALUMOTIVE 2005:

with its exhibition and technical sessions

ALUMOTIVE 2005: with its exhibition and technical sessions, the most highly specialised Italian appointment for the transport sector will be held in Modena, Italy, from 20th to 22nd October 2005, occupying the entire area of the fair

From 20th to 22nd October 2005, the best and most highly advanced international production in the field of subcontracting and components in aluminium and technological materials for the transport industry will come together at Bologna Fair.

Figures of a success

Three months before the event, 524 companies have already confirmed their presence at the second edition of Alumotive - the International Exhibition of Innovative Solutions, Subcontracting, Components in Aluminium and Technological Materials for the Transport Industry.

1001 supporters and three ministries are sponsoring the event (the Ministry for Production Activities, the Ministry for Infrastructures and Transport and the Ministry for Technological Innovation) and 28 associations, research bodies and universities have provided their patronage and scientific support. Twenty-nine extremely high level technical sessions will be held and more than 3,000 professional operators have already registered in advance to visit the exhibition on the event’s website (www.alumotive.it).

Catalogue of success for transport

For three days the entire area of Modena Fair will be at the service of transport. Exhibiting at Alumotive 2006 will be workshops specialising in precision machining (workshops for machining bar from solid; workshops for  machining castings; workshops for machining sheet and rolled products, workshops for machining dies); in welding and assembly (workshops for structural welding sheet and components for bodies; workshops for mechanical and chemical assembly); in surface finishing (polishing, brushing, tumbling, preparation for surface finishing; shot-peening, anodic oxidising; anodic oxidising; industrial coating; electrolytic galvanising; other galvanic processes on components); studios engaged in design, engineering, industrial design, subcontracted traditional and rapid prototyping; universities; centres for technological innovation and professional training; centres for applied research and new process and product development; metallurgical testing laboratories; certification bodies; companies specialising in industrial screen printing; hardware and applicational software, technical publishing companies in the sector.

The 29 technical sessions: The transport industry from A to Z

The technical sessions of Alumotive investigate all the aspects of the transport compartment of greatest current interest.

(The titles are as follows: Aluminium Surface Treatments - News 2005; Aeronautics; Product and Process Innovation: a journey through Simulation Technologies accompanied by experts and users; The Deformation, Pressing and Fixing of Sheet; Aluminium in the collective cell; Support for Small-Medium Companies in Technological Innovation. Research Bodies, Universities and Companies; Development of the Call Project; Presentation of Top Solid 2006: the success of integration;
Futures contracts on non-ferrous metals and plastic on the London Metal Exchange. Advantages and risks for the sector’s industries; Coatings and Finishes of other Materials; Marine, Aerodynamic, Mechanical Engineering, Motorcycle and High-Tech applications; Patents covering Spare parts and Subcontracting contracts; the High-Mech District; Extrusion Dies and Matrices;
Kart; EDP technologies for the Transport Industry; Foundry and Diecasting; Forging; Powder Metallurgy. Applications and potential of sintered details;
Test, Controls, Certification; Machining; Assembly and Cutting techniques – Welding Processes; Aluminium Alloys and Special Materials; Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Casting;
Innovative Materials, Designing with Light Alloys and new Technological Materials; Titanium: Face-to-face between Producers and Users.

Conceived to provide a qualified panorama of the compartment, the topics to be investigated were carefully examined by the event’s scientific committee, whose primary interest is to provide a faithful reflection of markets.

In this way, the transport compartment, the technological novelties which push it forward and the most avant garde processes and treatments will be examined in depth.

Luca Alberghini, managing director of Ad Expo, comments, “Last year, the conference halls were sold out. Operators in the transport compartment, technicians, engineers, fitters, heads of style centres, etc. found that Alumotive was a qualified tool for acquiring updated information and verification that had previously been missing. This is why visitors’ appreciation encouraged us to extend the conference sessions, which have doubled compared with 2003”.

Mario Conserva, Vice President of Adexpo, continues, “By reading through the titles and speakers of the interventions, there is the feeling that we are acquiring personal experience of know-how, and I mean the real type. In two intense days, here in Modena, we have brought together the Burke’s Peerage of the industry and research in the sector. From design to technology, from EDP to the most highly specialised processing and treatment operations, from the study of innovative materials to certification testing, the transport industry in its entirety will assess the latest situation on the technological development of the compartment.

Cycles, motorcycles, autos, boats and aircraft, special and commercial transport, competition vehicles: Alumotive is an all-embracing occasion for reflection and the exchange of ideas. In Italy there is no equivalent event which can boast such authoritative names”.

Aludesign, the important round table dedicated to research into style, involves designers from the most important international car companies.

Moderated by Mauro Tedeschi, director of the Quattroruote magazine, Aludesign will be attended by the heads of the style centres of BERTONE STILE, BMW, FIAT LANCIA and BLU DESIGN. The goal of the event is to compare the design and style possibilities offered by various materials and the experiences of the most important designers in the world.
