Dr. Klaus Rave supports HUSUM WindEnergy as “Senior Head Advisor Renewables”
The supervisory board of Husumer Wirtschaftsgesellschaft (HWG) voted to confirm Peter Becker as its managing director on a permanent basis.
Becker, a 42-year-old lawyer, brings with him the experience gained over ten successful years at the Flensburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK), and as head of the IHK's North Frisia branch office. He is not just a major authority on the regional economy, but also on the energy industry, as this was his area of responsibility for the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Peter Cohrs, chair of HWG's supervisory board, emphasised that "Peter Becker was successful in a strong field of other applicants. He has filled the gap left by the departure of Hanno Fecke excellently, and has already made his mark on HWG within the first weeks of taking the helm as interim managing director. It was this that convinced the supervisory board to confirm his appointment on a permanent basis. Peter Becker has already shown that he is well able to solve the conceptual and organisational challenges facing Husumer Wirtschaftsgesellschaft".
Peter Becker, who has discovered a passion for the domestic and international exhibition, congress and event business over the last few months, expressed his thanks for the great trust shown in him. "The Husum exhibition team is highly motivated and totally committed. I look forward to a good working relationship, and to the numerous challenges ahead. As well as further developing the very successful exhibition business, we will also be vitalising the NCC by staging a series of new events", said Peter Becker.
Peter Becker is now responsible for the NordseeCongressCentrum, which opened its doors for the first time in August, and for the Husum trade fairs. These include Nord Gastro und Hotel, New Energy Husum, Bau und Ambiente, as well as the biennial HUSUM WindEnergy, the leading international wind energy trade fair.
To provide support for the continued internationalisation of the fair, the supervisory board was also able to bring in Dr. Klaus Rave, president of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), and vice-president of the European wind Energy Association (EWEA), and an outstanding specialist on the international wind energy scene. As "Senior Head Advisor Renewables", Dr. Rave will be supporting Peter Becker's team and the Husum Exhibition and Congress Centre in the further development of HUSUM WindEnergy.
"Husum must remain the global homeland of wind energy. Innovative concepts, clever minds and specific infrastructural measures are the triad that will secure the future of this business location!" is how Dr. Rave summarised the way to meet the challenges ahead.
