15th Latin American Foundry Fair attracts major national and international companies and anticipates trends and technologies for the sector, generating businesses of more than US$ 46 million

The Associação Brasileira de Fundição, ABIFA, holds from October 15 to18, the FENAF 2013 (15th Latin American Foundry) and the CONAF 2013 (16th Congress Foundry) at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo – Brazil. With the participation of over 400 companies from Brazil and other countries, the largest Latin American event of the foundry sector reunites a market that worth US$ 11.4 billion in Brazil during 2012, bringing key trends and technologies of the area related to iron, steel and non-ferrous casting and to all  foundry process.

Representatives from companies and entities from the mainly importers and exporters countries related to foundry - which is present in the entire production chain - will attend the fair, which expects to attract over 32,000 visitors this year.
 
"We will have a growth of about 10% in FENAF this year, if compared to the last edition," said Remo De Simone, president of ABIFA. "Leading companies and entities linked to the foundry segment will be assembled in Brazil, in October to catch up on new trends and technologies, to do global business and institutionally strengthen their brands," complemented.

Present in all the production chain, the Brazilian foundry earned US$ 11.4 billion in 2012, with production of 2.8 million tons, generating about 60,000 jobs. Brazil has the seventh largest foundry industry in the world, ahead of countries as Italy and France. The products are present in various industries, such as automotive (58.0% of demand), capital goods (13.0%); infrastructure sectors (6.0%) as sanitation and electricity; steel (2.0 %) and exports (13.0%).

Foundry Brazil - The representative of FENAF attracts to Brazil companies and entities of the world's major countries. Because of this, there is a great expectation of generating business during the fair. To increase activities, ABIFA signed a technical and financial cooperation agreement with the APEX-Brazil (Brazilian Exportation and Investments Promotion Agency) to create an exclusively reserved area for the Castings Products Exportation Promotion Project- Foundry Brazil.

The goal of the project, that represents the Brazilian foundries, is to position the sector as a major world exporter of castings through strategic actions to promote trading. During FENAF 2013, Brazil Foundry Project will be present with the Buyer Project, which promotes business turns within the Fair, and the Image Project, which aims to promote abroad the image of nationals products and services, by the visits to Brazil of foreign opinion makers whose will better understand the sector and the Brazilian companies. The expected business generation in 2013 is approximately US$ 46 million.
