60 years of Schaufler Tooling

Sixty years ago, on July 1, 1961, Schaufler Tooling was founded by brothers Albert and Fritz Schaufler. Two years later, two experienced toolmakers joined the team. This was the start of what is now our today's main business, the manufacture of dies for the light metal die casting process.

The company was run by the family for two generations - Reiner Schaufler took over in 1985 - and during this time it developed from small beginnings in the back room of a car dealership to an internationally renowned high pressure diecast die manufacturer.

In the course of the company's succession, the Swiss-based CGS Management AG took over as main shareholder in 2014. With the acquisition of Fischer Tool & Die in Temperance, Michigan, USA, in 2016, the foundation for the international SF Tooling Group, which is also based in Laichingen , was laid. Schaufler China was then founded in Shanghai in 2019. Since then, the SF Tooling Group has been listed in the world market leader index by Wirtschaftswoche and University of St. Gallen three times in a row.

Today the group, with approximately 200 employees worldwide, mainly develops and produces dies for light metal parts for vehicle bodies and electromobility applications and is therefore ideally positioned for the very dynamic transformation of the automotive industry. The SF Tooling Group with Schaufler Tooling in Europe and Fischer Tool & Die in the USA already plays an important role in the latest segment of the so-called "giga dies" with weights of around 130 tons.

This successful development would be inconceivable without the innovative and far-sighted management team and without our qualified and highly motivated employees. Our anniversay will be celebrated at a summer party with all employees, respecting the restrictions in place due to the Covid pandemic.
