Reading time: min

Due to global concerns over public health & safety, ALUCAST 2020 is being cancelled as a matter of abundant precaution keeping mind the safety of all exhibitors, attendees and partners.

Scheduled to be held from 3-5 December, 2020 in Chennai, the event was expected to attract more than 300 exhibitors from over 15 countries and more than 5000 visitors, making it one of the most anticipated events for the aluminium die-casting Industry. However, the global escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the staging of physical exhibitions in their traditional format.

Mr. Prasan Firodia, Chairman, Aluminium Casters’ Association (ALUCAST) & Managing Director, Jaya Hind Industries and Force Motors said, “We do not envisage a scenario for our exhibitors and visitors to fully experience and benefit from the 2020 edition of ALUCAST. We have taken this decision keeping in mind the market sentiment,as also the overall safety perspective. We shall be announcing the dates of the next event, by the first quarter of 2021 after taking stock of the situation and based on Industry Feedback”.

Adding to this Ms. Sonia Prashar, Managing Director, NürnbergMesse said, “The challenges and uncertainty stemming from the spread of the pandemic would have impacted the staging of ALUCAST 2020. An event which relies strongly on face to face connect& networking, would not have functioned well amidst restrictions.

On the other hand, any crisis is also an opportunity for organisations to innovate. The current  situation has accelerated the process of digital and operational transformation across companies. The next edition of ALUCAST, which will be announced soon, will offer a chance to our exhibitors to present their latest innovative solutions in line with Industry 4.0.

The Aluminium Die-Casting Industry in India caters to both domestic and international customers and has a tremendous potential to develop further, especially considering the current global landscape. The Aluminium Casters' Association (ALUCAST) works in close cooperation with the Industry to provide a global forum for Indian casting producers as also to encourage and assist in the continuous improvement in the quality of castings produced.

“Given our role, we will work to ensure that ALUCAST emerges as a platform which empowers businesses to come together and offer solutions for a post COVID world. In the interim, a series of webinars & technical presentations will be organised to keep the community engaged and the dialogue flowing”, concludes Mr. Zubin Kabraji, Secretary, Aluminium Casters’ Association (ALUCAST).
