Audi to recall 1,633 imported units of Q5 model in China

China Knowledge quoted the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement said Audi AG, a German subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, will recall 1,633 units of imported Q5 3.2FSI Quattro in China from August 7.

The AQSIQ said the affected Q5 model was manufactured between June and December last year.

The automaker said the skylight glass in these affected vehicles would break under extreme cold weather or very low temperature, adding that all affected Q5 models will be fixed free.

Audi AG saw its China sales rose 37.8% YoY to 193,871 units in the first half of 2012 mainly due to the robust sales of Audi Q5 model. The sales of Audi Q5 vehicles surged 86.7% YoY to 43,150 units in H1.
