Ervin Amasteel, manufacturer of the largest-selling brand of steel abrasives in the world, are pleased to announce that, following Environmental Approvals, work has started on the new 22 million Euro  facility at Glaubitz, Saxony, Germany.

Directors and senior management visited the 100.000m² site recently to witness the initiation of the construction phase of the project.

The new factory will be one of the most environmentally friendly facilities producing cast steel abrasives worldwide. It will produce Ervin’s market leading Amasteel product range, initially employing over 40 people.

Ervin Amasteel expects to double its existing capacity from the combined facilities, Tipton in the UK and the new facility at Glaubitz, over the course of the next decade.

Commercial Director Phil Ripley commented:
“We are extremely pleased to have moved on to this next stage.  The Glaubitz plant is a key part of our growth strategy. It will ensure the Ervin Standard of high quality product is available locally to customers in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. It will also provide additional flexibility in terms of specific product availability across Europe.”

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan USA, Ervin Industries maintains Amasteel manufacturing facilities in Tipton, UK; Adrian, MI and Butler, PA USA; Amachrome stainless steel in Sprockhövel, Germany; and Amacast stainless steel and speciality powders at Ervin Technologies in Tecumseh, MI USA.
