The second anniversary of CastForge, which will be taking place from 16 to 18 June 2020 at the Messe Stuttgart, is already nearly fully booked – seven months before it begins. More than 250 international exhibitors will be participating in the Trade Fair for Castings and Forgings with Processing. This corresponds to an increase of 66 per cent on the première in 2018, and double the number of spaces occupied in the hall.

Amongst the many exhibitors from across Europe are well-known names such as Bertot, Bosch Rexroth, GF Casting Solutions, GK Forge Grelowski, San Grato, Schmidt + Clemens and Schmiedetechnik Plettenberg who will exhibit for the first time in 2020, but also companies such as Fonderie Schlumberger, which had already attended the 2018 première and decided to participate again. And not only to participate, but also to book considerably more floor space.

This increase in exhibitors offers visitors an even more comprehensive market overview. In addition, they can find out about the technical and strategic issues involved in purchasing castings and forgings at symposia and talks.

"We are so pleased with the great encouragement that CastForge has received," says Gunnar Mey, Department Director of Industrial Solutions at Messe Stuttgart. He announces that, "despite being in a challenging time economically, we sense great enthusiasm from the trade fair exhibitors. Together with the castings and forgings sector, we are optimistic about getting one of the biggest purchasing events for castings and forgings on its feet."

New exhibitors have been won over
The high level of specialisation offered by this trade fair, with its focus on castings and forgings with processing, is one of the key reasons why so many companies want to exhibit at CastForge 2020. Norbert Pomplun, Key Account Manager for off-highway vehicles at GF Casting Solutions AG, explains that "visiting CastForge 2018 was a pleasant surprise. The combination of well-known exhibitors and a professional audience convinced us that the concept of the trade fair was a good one." As they thought that the focus was in the right place and the trade fair was attracting precisely the right audience, GF Casting Solutions decided to attend the 2020 trade fair in Stuttgart.

Maria Gabriella Bertot, Quality Assurance Manager at Bertot S.p.A., Italy, confirms that "CastForge is the most representative trade fair in this sector, as no other event caters for this sector so specifically. It provides an outstanding stage for our products and services, as well as our company. We are sure that here we can present our range in a targeted manner, expand our customer base and network efficiently."

Bigger presentations
Moreover, CastForge's high level of specialisation is a key reason why exhibitors who attended the première have chosen to come back next year – and want to reserve more space. French company Fonderie Schlumberger, for instance, is almost tripling the amount of space it is reserving.

"We are bringing Groupe Mecanique 2L and RFPM with us as our partners," announces David Vermelle, President of Fonderie Schlumberger. He adds that "we will reach the perfect target group in Stuttgart, as CastForge is the only trade fair in Europe that is dedicated to castings. Customers want to meet and find suppliers. CastForge is the best way to get in contact with many different buyers of castings."

An accompanying programme for the first time
As you might expect from such an important trade fair, specialist visitors of CastForge 2020 can also look forward to a varied accompanying programme of high professional quality. Gunnar Mey gives us a glimpse, explaining that "the Project Team is currently developing a suitable three-day accompanying programme, together with various associations and institutions. This will include a stage for specialist talks in the trade fair hall. In addition, workshops, seminars and conferences will be taking place at the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart, making CastForge an even more attractive event for visitors who are interested in castings and forgings with processing. This includes the VDG Akademie 'cast iron forum', which will be taking place alongside CastForge." Details about the accompanying programme will be published in February.
