The company has also redefined its global sales regions.

The restructuring of the business unit Cutting Tools End-Users was the first official act of Andreas Olthoff as new managing director of Ceratizit Austria GmbH, the company said. He succeeds Alfred Schennach, who has retired after 45 years in the carbide business.

Olthoff joined the company as managing director of Ceratizit Germany in March 2007. From 2009 onwards he was in charge of the restructuring process in the United States in his position as managing director in that country.

Olthoff said he set ambitious goals for himself after assuming his new management position. “Growth is very important to me. To achieve this, we need further development and a prominent positioning of the Ceratizit brand.”

In addition to a strong brand, worldwide presence is becoming ever more important, he noted. For this reason, sales regions in Europe and further afield have been redivided. “It is decisive that we gain new customers worldwide and continue to extend our market shares. We do not only want to be strong in Europe, but we also want to play an important role all over the world,” he said.
