Changchai to make diesel engine for Lister Petter

Shanghai - Britain engine maker Lister Petter signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday with Changchai Co., Ltd, an engine manufacturer located in east China's Changzhou city, for producing diesel engines in China, local Chinese media said.

Under the deal, Changchai will manufacture 50,000 diesel engines a year for Lister Petter in the initial stage. The two sides will also market each other's products at their own home markets.

Changchai Co.Ltd, formerly known as ChangZhou Diesel Engine Factory, is a listed company founded in 1913. It has an annual output capacity of 1.5 million fuel engines, 400,000 tons of <link _top>castings, 100,000 multi-cylinder diesel engines and 1.2 million single-cylinder diesel engines, according to the company's official website.

Lister Petter is based in Gloucestershire in England and has operations in the USA, France, India and China. Its main products include diesel and gas engines, generating sets and pumps.
