Despite Full Order Books: Ortrander Eisenhütte Files for Insolvency

Ortrander Eisenhütte GmbH has once again filed for insolvency. Despite full order books, a new insolvency procedure was initiated on December 19, 2024. The company previously underwent insolvency proceedings between December 2019 and June 2021. This time, attorney Olaf Seidel from the law firm AndresPartner has been appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator.

According to Niederlausitz-Aktuell, the insolvency announcement came as a surprise, as the company’s order books are well-filled for the coming year. Nevertheless, Seidel remains optimistic and sees opportunities for the continuation of operations. Business activities are currently running without restrictions, and customers can rely on timely deliveries.


Insolvency of Ortrander Eisenhütte GmbH: Perspectives and Actions

In the coming weeks, the insolvency administrator and the management team will jointly review potential restructuring options. The goal is to find a sustainable solution, maintain operations, and secure the 247 jobs at stake. To this end, discussions with customers, suppliers, and potential investors will take place.

The workforce has shown solidarity and will be supported by insolvency payments for the next three months. Employees have already been informed about the current situation, and initial measures to stabilize the company have been implemented.
