At the BDG's general assembly on June 18, the election of the presidency and the president took place, among other items on the agenda. The incumbent president, Clemens Küpper, was re-elected. Newly elected to the board are Dr. Christiane Heunisch-Grotz, Dr. Marc Mateika, and Dipl.-Ing. Lars Steinheider.
For BDG members, 2024 was an election year. On the evening before the Future Day of the German Foundry Industry, they elected the division heads for Economy and Technology as well as the new presidency at the HDGI Technical Center on Hansaallee in Düsseldorf.
New to the presidency are Dr. Christiane Heunisch-Grotz, Managing Partner at Heunisch, Bad Windsheim, and Dr. Marc Mateika, Managing Director at MeierGuss, Rahden (both Fe), as well as Dipl.-Ing. Lars Steinheider, Managing Director at FWH Stahlguss GmbH, Mühlheim/Ruhr (Vice President Technology).
Confirmed in office for the Technology division were Dirk Engels, Isselguss, and Dr. Klaus Lellig, Nemak Europe. Also re-elected in the NE division were Hartmut Fischer, Andreas Stihl Magnesium-Druckguss, Stefan Michel, Ed. Fitscher GmbH & Co. KG Metallgießerei, and Hans-Peter Grohmann, Johann Grohmann GmbH & Co. KG as Vice President. Reinhard Tweer from Reinhard Tweer GmbH remained Vice President of the Fe division. The elections were unanimous.
The newly elected presidency subsequently convened and confirmed Clemens Küpper for another three years as President of the German Foundry Industry Association. "I stood for re-election, knowing full well what to expect," the old and new president told members after his re-election. "Because we have a great team at Hansaallee," continued the Managing Director of Eisengiesserei Baumgarte, Bielefeld.
