Die casting sector well placed from economic aspect
The die casting sector appears to have overcome the crisis of 2008/2009 and cannot complain about the current economic situation. The Verband Deutscher Druckgießereien (VDD - Association of German Die Casting Foundries) reports a new record total turnover of 3.5 billion euros for 2010, compared with 3.1 billion euros in the boom year 2007. And according to CEMAFON (The European Foundry Equipment Suppliers Association), the member countries - Denmark, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Spain - exported foundry machinery worth 255 million euros (2008: 261 million euros) last year, which equates to a worldwide export share of 36 per cent. Both associations, VDD and CEMAFON, are honorary sponsors of the EUROGUSS exhibition.
