FEF’s August 2021 funding report for the Henry M. Rowan family foundation reiterates Inductotherm founder Henry M. Rowan’s desire to direct his giving to where it would do the most good for the most people

The following Foundry Education Foundation (FEF) 2021 funding report reminds us how Henry M. Rowan’s passion for metalcasting continues to fit perfectly with FEF’s motto — Developing Ties Between Metalcasting Professionals, Educators, and Students.

FEF worked closely with their Key Professors and Executive Board during the 20/21 Academic Year to guarantee programs for students to receive the funding needed to continue their academic activities. Thanks to the unwavering support from the Henry M. Rowan (HMR) Family Foundation since the endowment was created in 2013, FEF was able once again to sustain this commitment to provide uninterrupted scholarships of over $200,000 to 169 students from the HMR Family Foundation fund.

The HMR Family Foundation scholarships in many cases helped those students who did not receive, or who lost, an internship in the summer of 2020 because of the pandemic, to be able to continue their education. The support of the HMR Family Foundation allowed FEF to continue its mission to support the next generation of leaders in the metalcasting industry. Below are just a few of the many thank you’s from students:

“By awarding me this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school - learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community and I am truly thankful for this scholarship.”

“I think the resources and network you provide to students like me is wonderful. I feel so blessed to be in a field of study with supportive people such as yourself.”

“As a student, this money will be useful to help pay for tuition and books for this semester. It is great to be a part of an industry who cares so much about recruiting young people to join this wonderful field. Being awarded scholarships like this one, has made me want to give back to future students just like you have for me.”

“I just received an FEF scholarship, and I wanted to personally thank you and FEF for investing in my education. I'm very grateful for all that FEF does and the resources it provides to my fellow students and me. I will make sure these funds get put to good use!”

Inductotherm Corp. looks forward to supporting FEF’s initiatives in the 2021–2022 academic year!
