Fill Machine Engineering is growing continuously. With incoming orders of € 107 million, 2011 was the most successful year in the company's history. On 17 April 2012, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the "Fill 2020" project. With this, the company is taking an important step towards expanding its site in Gurten, Upper Austria. In the next twelve months, an additional 8,000 m2  of logistics and assembly facilities will be built here in the first construction phase. The internationally active machine engineering company with an export quota of about 90 percent is thereby reinforcing its sound course for growth. For the first time in the company's history, the 500 employee level was also broken in April 2012. This underpins Fill's position as one of the region's most important and attractive employers.

As part of the "Fill 2020" project, the first construction phase commenced in April 2012 alongside the existing Fill premises in Gurten. Urgently needed additional logistics and assembly space will be built here in the next twelve months on an 8,000 m2 site. An extension to the electro-workshop, the machining shop and a new service center will also be accommodated on the expanded, new company site. In total, about 35,000 m3 of earth will be moved in the coming weeks before the first phase begins with construction of the parking area, building site, a new road and the new water overflow and storage basin. "We are investing around € 25 million over the next few years in the Gurten plant. The next phase is scheduled for 2014 with construction of a 2,000 m2 service and training center. This is a clear commitment to our location here in the Innviertel," explain the CEOs Andreas Fill and Wolfgang Rathner.

More than 500 employees for the first time
Since the beginning of April 2012, Fill Machine Engineering has more than 500 active employees on its books for the first time ever. This represents another milestone in the history of the Upper Austrian high-tech company. "We need extra staff due to the encouraging order situation. Qualified specialists are always welcome here to help strengthen our market position in the respective branches of industry," says Andreas Fill.

More than lip service paid to sustainability
The timber harvested as a consequence of construction work will be recycled next winter in the Waldwärme Gurten boiler plant (which Fill played a major role in building). This in turn will provide heat to the entire Fill site (offices, production and storage halls). "In all our expansion plans, we attach great importance to environmentally friendly and environmentally compatible measures," says Andreas Fill, affirming the company's ecological focus.
