The current economic environment, marked by economic challenges and geopolitical uncertainties, as well as the transformation phase within the additive manufacturing industry, is putting significant pressure on many companies. Additionally, a scheduling conflict with RAPID + TCT Detroit complicates decision-making for exhibitors and attendees, many of whom would have had to choose between two important events.
Up to the last moment, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH worked with all stakeholders to resolve the scheduling issue, but unfortunately, these efforts were unsuccessful.
“After careful consideration and intensive discussions with our key partners, we jointly decided to postpone the start of Formnext Chicago, which was originally planned for April 8–10, 2025. This decision was not made lightly. We are convinced it is in the best interest of the industry and the companies involved,” explained Sascha Wenzler, Vice President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.
In partnership with AMT – The Association for Manufacturing Technology (organizer of IMTS), Gardner Business Media, and Messe Frankfurt USA, Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH (organizer of Formnext) is committed to developing a new strategic approach for the U.S. market. “Our shared goal and priority is to support the user and manufacturer community in a way that truly benefits their businesses, and we believe that the postponement is the best way to achieve this,” confirmed Douglas Woods, President of AMT. Together with all industry partners, this ensures that future events are well-timed and continue to meet the needs of the additive manufacturing industry.
“We thank our partners and the entire community for their support and understanding, and we look forward to jointly shaping the next steps for Formnext in the U.S.,” added Petra Haarburger, President of Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.
Formnext Chicago aims to introduce American companies, especially those that have not yet encountered Additive Manufacturing (AM), to this exciting technology and its benefits, showcasing how AM can be successfully and profitably implemented in an industrial context. The partners remain fully committed to this objective. Therefore, strategic discussions are already underway with the industry to further support and drive the growing industrialization of AM in the U.S.
