The state-of-the-art foundry, based in the south of Brazil and established in 1924 by a German engineer, Altona makes quality castings for many markets, including: Hydro Power, Coal Power, Oil and Gas, Machinery and Industrial Equipment, Dredging, Compressors and Turbines, Valves, Pumps and Mining equipment parts.
Its main activity is related to the production and machining of steel castings, which can be cast in many different alloys, such as carbon steel and alloys (low, medium and high), stainless steel and high alloyed irons for special applications.
Altona is a worldwide-recognized supplier and has been shipping parts and components to the major OEMs in the fields of construction equipment, agriculture machines and railway segments, with a capability of supplying machined parts up to 10 tons, using induction furnaces, electric arc furnaces and AOD refining furnaces.
Altona delivers finished, machined steel castings inspected to global certification standards. Its inspection area has a complete structure for non-destructive testing (NDTs), such as: radiographic test, magnetic particle, ultrasonic test and liquid penetrant test. The company constantly updates its dimensional control processes using technologies such as photogrammetry and measuring arms.
Another priority is investments in scrum and lean six-sigma methodologies, achieving impressive results while growing its competitive presence in the global market
Altona is strategically located near ports and airports, and currently exports to more than 30 countries. The company has local sales representatives around the world and has opened a new subsidiary in Europe (Frankfurt, Germany) in April 2018.
