The die casting sector is one of the many areas in which our country has always excels, whose main target market is the automotive industry. Serving this sector is Gefond, which was founded in 1994 by Pierluigi Tronci, who began his business by distributing consumables to light alloy foundries, and then moved on to technology by importing from Germany equipment for the die-casting process, such as spraying machines and dosing furnaces, thousands of units of which he has sold over the years, securing the trust of many companies in the sector. “It was the company's first step,” Tiziana Tronci, the second generation of the Milan-based company, tells us, “toward a new mission, that of bringing innovation and expertise to light alloy foundries.” Tiziana herself, with her enthralling passion and anticipatory entrepreneurial vision, is the right person to continue the work.

She joined the company at the age of 40 after a degree in Communication Sciences and other important professional experiences, and after two years spent getting into symbiosis with this complex industry, she began to envision the future of the company, focusing on internationalization and diversification. The first powerful paradigm shift for a distributor business was to become a machinery manufacturer.

We have patented a mold temperature control unit that in just a few years has won the trust of foundries in Italy, Europe and some strategic non-EU countries. HPDC by Gefond also trains operators to take advantage of all the performance of the control units. “We have gone even further,” Tiziana concludes, "by creating the company's software division that has developed Perpetuo, the platform for predictive maintenance that allows us to anticipate breakdowns. This makes it possible to decrease downtime by up to 35%, say data collected from our customers. The results of the software have convinced some industrial machinery manufacturers to install it directly on their machines. And we are sure that many more will follow.
