GER - Leroxid Wins EuroMold Gold Award 2011 for Tool Inserts

Reading time: min

The winner of the EuroMold Gold Award 2011 was Leroxid, for its wear-resistant new Dimacer tool inserts made of ceramics that can be erosion-machined. The inserts extend the lifespan of tools for injection moulding and die-casting. The recognition was issued at a ceremony that took place during EuroMold 2011 in Frankfurt am Main.

Other winners presented with awards on the evening of November 30 were Decker Technologies GmbH, which took the silver honour, and RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co. KG, which received the bronze award.

The EuroMold Awards are handed out annually to distinguish innovative and pioneering products and services. They are among the most prestigious industry honours given in recognition of achievement in product development.

The Dimacer ceramic that earned Leroxid the gold award at EuroMold 2011 is conductive yet fracture-stable and thus well suited for shaping by means of electrical-discharge-machining technology. Mould inserts can be spark-eroded from the material without loss of strength. Serving as wear-resistant linings in injection moulds, the machined forms allow the moulding of abrasive materials.

Deckerform’s EuroMold Silver Award 2011 recognized the company’s “3K-Monosandwich-molds” for producing dense and solid-coloured high-resistance moulded parts from three layers of plastic. The Bronze Award 2011 presented to RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz acknowledged the innovativeness of the RUD-ID electronic system for safe, error-free and rapid testing, documentation and management of load suspension devices and mandatory testing equipment.
