The German foundry-industry substitutes its interests instantly in the new founded “Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie” (BDG).

In the BDG united the three industry alliances, Deutscher Gießereiverband e. V. (DGV), the Gesamtverband Deutscher Metallgießereien e. V. (GDM) and the Verein Deutscher Gießereifachleute e.V. (VDG).

On the 20th of August Hans-Dieter Honsel has been voted as chairman of the BDG. Place of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie is in Düsseldorf.

„It has become a powerful alliance by combination of the three organisations, which replaces consistently all economic and technical interests of the German foundry-industry”, comments BDG-president Hans-Dieter Honsel.

To the BDG belong altogether over 600 companies. The spectrum of the member companies reaches from small middle-class companies to global operating concerns. The foundry-industry counts since many years to the world leader with its technological challenging and innovative products in each material, which support the best solution, and is brilliantly  positioned in the international comparison.

The German foundry-industry employs round 90 000 workers today and made a turnover about 15 billion Euro in 2007.

The main-executive from the BDG is represented by Gerhard Klügge (finances), Kay-Uwe-Präfke (economy) and Dr.-Ing. Gotthard Wolf (technology).
