The green light has been given for preparations for the four technology fairs GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST 2011. At the end of June 2009 in Düsseldorf the fair quartet’s committee was formed and held its first session.

In this connection, Dr. Ioannis Ioannidis, Executive Board Spokesman for Oskar Frech GmbH & Co. KG from Schorndorf, was elected President of GIFA 2011. The President of THERMPROCESS 2011 is Dr. Hermann Stumpp, CEO LOI Thermprocess GmbH, while Dieter Rosenthal, Executive Board Member SMS Siemag AG, was elected President of METEC.

The four international technology fairs GIFA, International Foundry Trade Fair, METEC, International Metallurgical Technology Trade Fair, THERMPROCESS, International Trade Fair for Thermo Process Technology, and NEWCAST, International Trade Fair for Precision Castings, will be presented in 2011 from 28 June to 2 July in Düsseldorf. Under the motto “The Bright World of Metals”, once again the themes of castings, foundry technology, metallurgy and thermo process technology will be the focus of world attention. All four technology fairs will focus special attention on the current themes CO2 reduction and energy efficiency. They will again be accompanied by a top-quality support programme featuring numerous seminars, international congresses and lecture series.

When they were last staged in 2007 the GIFA, METEC, THERMPROCESS and NEWCAST quartet of fairs registered a total of 1,700 exhibitors from 34 countries and around 72,000 international guests from 84 nations. The four events occupied total net exhibition space of 68,000 square metres. For 2011 a similarly high level of participation is expected.

In cooperation with its honorary sponsors and partners, Messe Düsseldorf will use the next two years for the worldwide implementation of measures taken from the approved marketing concept and for moving forward the successful development of the four technology fairs.
