The British company Grainger & Worrall, a leading global specialist in complex aluminium sand casting solutions, has been awarded the King's Award for Enterprise in Innovation. This is the fourth time the company has received one of the UK's highest business awards (formerly the Queen's Award).
The company, based in Bridgnorth (Shropshire), England, with 525 employees, was recognised for its groundbreaking developments in lightweight structures for electric vehicles. Particularly noteworthy is the development of prototype gigacastings, which can be produced quickly and reproducibly and have similar properties to die-cast parts in series production.
