According to the Austrian magazine Industriemagazin, automotive supplier Hella is planning to relocate large parts of its assembly operations from its Großpetersdorf plant to other facilities in Eastern Europe and South America. As part of this restructuring, approximately 225 jobs are expected to be cut by 2027.
The Großpetersdorf site currently manufactures lighting systems for agricultural and construction machinery as well as for special-purpose vehicles — including headlights, tail lights, and technical lighting for motorcycles, snowmobiles, and mining vehicles. In addition, the plant produces plastic components such as headlight bezels using injection molding technology, which are then coated and painted.
As it stands, only this plastics manufacturing segment is expected to remain in Burgenla
