Business Line reported that Volkswagen Group India will showcase the concept of MicroCity a futuristic mobility solution as well as Nils, its concept electric car designed for individual mobility requirements, at the last and 5 leg of the Indo-German Urban Mela due to be held at Pune from Jan 11th to 21st.

Mr Alexander Skibbe head of communication for VW Group India said that MicroCity is one of the solutions conceptualized by Volkswagen to address problems of urban congestion. He said that this is a project of our Research team, adding that India is the only country where the idea is being showcased.

The MicroCity is a mobility hub that is more than simply a car park and will come with integrated vehicle related services such as charging stations and vehicle rental stations. It can also be a central point for switching to different modes of transport like an underground train, car pooling, or hiring an e-scooter, he explained. VW introduced the concept at the IGUM in Delhi in October and is in the process of analyzing the data and feedback from visitors there.
