indometal 2013: Introducing new “indotools” showcase to highlight innovative solutions to tooling challenges

At the first edition of indometal 2013 & international metal & steel trade fair for southeast asia scheduled in  Jakarta from 20 to 23 February 2013, the exhibition will introduce a special showcase on machine tool products, solutions and applications called “indotools”. This new innovation and dedicated platform on machine tools will feature one main category  metal cutting machine tools, alongside ten sub categories from drilling machines to surface technology. 

Indotools is slated to be the bedrock of the region’s machine tool industry and will offer all the necessities and innovative solutions to tooling challenges. Visitors can expect to maximise the investment in their machinery and equipment by finding uptodate technology that will allow for minimum setup and machining time and the latest innovations in metal cutting equipment including machining centres, turning centres and a comprehensive range of metal cutting technology.

Dedicated to bringing more business opportunities directly to both trade exhibitors and visitors, more effectively by bringing technology closer to companies and facilitating their innovation, “The  indotools showcase will extend the spectrum of offerings at indometal 2013, and will be a onestop business and sourcing platform for the metal, steel and machine tool industries in Indonesia and the region in one unique location,” says Beattrice Ho, senior project manager.

Located in the indometal 2013 exhibition area, the indotools showcase will complement the seven key categories under indometal 2013 which include metallurgy technology, foundry machinery, equipment and supplies, semifinished and finished products, thermo process technology, accessories and components, metal cutting machine tools, and tube manufacturing technology.

Jointly organized by Messe Düsseldorf Asia and PT. Wahana Kemalaniaga Makmur (WAKENI), indometal 2013 together with the indotools showcase will provide the ideal destination for investors and industry leaders to come together and lead Indonesia’s domestic metal, steel and machine tool industry to greater heights. As Rini Sumardi, Director at WAKENI, emphasises, “The metal and steel industry is developing positively within the Indonesian economy and trade  exhibitions like indometal with its indotools showcase will be the showpiece for this industry as it goes in search of technical solutions that enable it to compete on a national and international scale.” She also praised the latest data on the Indonesian metal and steel industry, which has seen the demand for metal and steel steadily rising, leading to increased investments in the industry. 

According to the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Indonesia is well on its way to reach an investment target of Rp 283.5 trillion by end of 2012, reflecting a 13% increase compared to 2011. “By the same token the machine tool industry, being closely linked to the metal and steel sectors, will benefit from this development too,” she added.
