International aluminium melting specialists to intensify sales activities in South-East Asia

Reading time: min

The ZPF Group, one of the leading suppliers of energy-efficient aluminium melting furnaces, has set up its own sales company in Singapore to serve the Pacific region. The aim of the new company, which is named ZPF Asia Pacific Pte Ltd., is to strengthen the German furnace builder's market presence in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

The Pacific region is a major worldwide processing centre for aluminium, thanks to the presence of numerous supply companies for the automobile and motorcycle production industry. Accordingly, the ZPF Group sees a great deal of potential in the region. The furnace builder, from the German town of Siegelsbach, has already supplied several Indonesian firms in the past, and its energy and resource-efficient melting plants are well regarded in foundries throughout China and India. A sales office was opened in Shanghai at the beginning of 2011, especially to serve the Chinese market. In October, an independent company in Taicang commenced production of furnaces for the whole Asian market. The first plants to be constructed here are now being delivered to customers.

The purpose of the new sales office in Singapore is specifically to serve customers in South Asian countries. It currently has nine employees, living either in Indonesia, Malaysia or the Philippines, who not only speak the national language but are available to help customers directly on site. Moreover, ZPF Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. cooperates with ssmGenesis Pte Ltd, a company that specialises in establishing contacts between customers and manufacturers for the sale of modern industrial solutions.

The majority of melting plants ordered through Singapore are produced by the Chinese ZPF Industrial Furnaces Co., Ltd, thus minimising delivery times. These furnaces are of the same construction as their German counterparts, while complex components, such as gas lines or hydraulics systems, are supplied directly by the parent company in Germany. This ensures that the plants display the typical characteristics of ZPF furnaces, particularly the reverse exhaust gas circulation system, which supports the melting process using heat from the exhaust fumes, while minimising the emission of pollutants. If the customer wishes so, however, he can still order melting ovens supplied directly from Germany.
