INTERNATIONAL FOUNDRY FORUM CASCAIS 2006

<font face="arial, geneva, helvetica" size="2"><strong>From 23 countries, more than 250 delegates have been attending the 2 days event in Cascais / Portugal<br><br></strong>A brilliant organization and top speakers have made this congress to become the first adress&nbsp; for the international metal foundry world.&nbsp;<br><br>During the first and busy day of works, Klaus Urbat, Caef’s general secretary, offered an insight on foundry market analysis, but space was also given to companies that are typical users of foundry castings in the sectors of transports, earth moving machines, big engines and machine tools. The requests from main final users to foundries are clear and simple: what is needed is more technical education, organizing abilities, availability to partnerships, high quality at competitive prices.</font>

<font face="arial, geneva, helvetica" size="2">It was pointed out that &nbsp;the foundry system has to evaluate this needs with great care thus fully exploiting the chances offered by R&amp;D of products, materials and processes.</font>

<font face="arial, geneva, helvetica" size="2">The opening day, mainly speakers from&nbsp;direct consumers of foundry-products presented their&nbsp;vues, whereas the second day was the day of&nbsp;speakers of Associations from all over the world, &nbsp;the representing the&nbsp;y main&nbsp;- and upcoming foundry markets&nbsp; (BRIC-Countries).<br></font><font face="arial, geneva, helvetica" size="2"><br>General views on markets and finances where presented by Dr.Dannenberg of MERCER Consulting and Dr.Kurt Demmer, Chief Economist and Director of IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG.</font>
