John Winter Continues Sustainability Mission with Further Investment

Reading time: min

John Winter is progressing its journey to become a more environmentally-friendly foundry supplier by investing significantly into its facilities and infrastructure.

Changes at the site include the installation of recycling facilities, new LED lighting and investment in manufacturing increasingly sustainable products.

The investment will dramatically reduce the company’s carbon footprint, saving at least 33 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. 120 LED lighting units will replace traditional lighting and are proven to positively influence employees’ energy levels, mood, work performance and alertness

Adam Bennett, sales director at John Winter, said: “It’s a really positive step for us as we push to become a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly business”.

“We wanted to take action and improve our impact on the environment. Just one example of the positive steps we’ve taken is the onsite recycling of materials from our previous lighting system, following the installation of our new LED lighting.”

Developments at John Winter follow a busy period for the business as it entered into an exclusive partnership with Omega Foundry Machinery to introduce its products to the UK market. John Winter’s research and development team has also been working to improve existing products, making them increasingly sustainable and environmentally-friendly.
