John Winter records surge in requirement for silicon carbide filters

Reading time: min

Leading foundry supplier and manufacturer John Winter has recorded a rise in demand for silicon carbide filters.

John Winter’s silicon carbide filters are produced by one of the world’s largest manufacturers of metal filtration products, and are used predominantly in iron metal filtration in European automotive foundries.

With a foam-like structure and continuous pores, the silicon carbide filters offer a clean casting with reduced defects.

In addition to silicon carbide filters, John Winter supplies a wide range of foam filters for aluminium and steel filtration.

Adam Bennett, sales director at John Winter, said: “We’re noticing a considerable uplift in demand for our silicon carbide filters and this is due to their consistent quality and competitiveness as foundries continue to focus on costs and performance. They make a huge difference to the finished component, delivering castings without any unwanted inclusions.

“We’re continuing to work with our customers with all our product range to optimise productivity and efficiency, and offer a long term sustainable supply service.”
