The Japanese manufacturer, known for its secondary aluminium alloys used in die casting, foundry, and rolling applications, received the certification for its Shiga plant, which produces recycled aluminium alloys in both molten and ingot forms.
ASI highlighted Daiki Aluminium's use of aluminium scrap as the primary raw material in its recycling operations, contributing significantly to the circular economy. The Shiga facility boasts an annual production capacity of approximately 38,500 metric tons and features advanced infrastructure, including three melting furnaces, two rotary kilns, casting equipment, molten metal transport systems, and raw material pre-treatment facilities.
The ASI certification program is the world’s only comprehensive and voluntary sustainability standard for the aluminium sector. Introduced in May 2022 following a multi-year revision process, the Performance Standard V3 comprises 11 principles and 62 criteria addressing the three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and governance aspects. The independent audit of Daiki Aluminium Industry Co., Ltd. was conducted by DNV Business Assurance Services UK Ltd.
