KSM Castings opens new production site in the USA

By opening up new business opportunities in the USA, KSM Castings is further 

expanding its leading position as a provider of complex light-metal components for powertrain and chassis components in the automotive industry. 

 

In establishing its new location in the USA, the company is addressing the rising 

demands of its international customers for high-quality castings.

KSM Castings, one of the leading suppliers of products made of cast light metal, has today announced the development of a new US location in Shelby, North Carolina.  Dr. Frank Boshoff, CEO of KSM Castings, explained: "This decision to invest in a new plant in  the USA is a further step in the global expansion of our production platform.

The new production site in North Carolina will enable us to supply our current and future customers in the growing US market on a more local basis. The increasing demands of car manufacturers, in particular the use of resource-efficient products, are creating a rising need for light-alloy castings with a high level of technological quality."

The facility in Shelby, NC, is scheduled to be operational in early 2014 and expected to begin hiring and staffing this facility in late 2013.This step into the North American market is part of a global growth strategy. Over and beyond this aspect, the company, which is owned by the Chinese wheel manufacturers CITIC Dicastal since October 2011, is continuing its efforts to expand its position on the Chinese market.
