Fatih İğrek, R&D Director of İğrek Makina, stated that the construction of the new factory, located on a 150,000 m2 plot in Bursa is in its final stages. The factory will have a production capacity of 190 tons of metal, 5 giant induction furnaces, and the infrastructure to cast parts weighing up to 100 tons. "Our new factory will be one of the leading facilities in Europe and even the world in terms of capacity," said İğrek. "We have also made investments in very good casting equipment and machines in terms of technology. We brought our machines to our country with a shipment process exceeding 40 trucks, and we are completing their installation. We plan to start operations at the facility in the second half of 2023. With this factory, we will be the main mold casting supplier for all domestic automotive manufacturers, including TOGG, as well as European manufacturers."
"The volume in the foundry sector has shifted to our country"
Fatih İğrek stated that the foundry sector in Europe is going through a difficult process and he said , "Current world conditions have caused a volume shift in the casting sector to our country. Carrying this burden has required smart, productive investments and work. Automotive mold and machine part casting is our focus. We attach great importance to R&D studies in this field, and we continue our work and investments. We will continue to be a reliable partner for the automotive and mold industries with our fast and high-quality casting supply opportunities in iron and steel alloys. We will showcase our advancements to Europe and the world at GIFA Newcast Düsseldorf, the most prestigious exhibition in our industry, held every four years, in June.”
" We will launch at MATEF and EMO "
İğrek stated that they will introduce two new models to the market in 2023 and said, "We have studied the demands of the automotive sector in detail. We have equipped our machine, made from rigid body casting, with high-level features tailored to the specific demands of the automotive mold sector. Our nearly 30 years of supply experience in the sheet metal forming mold sector played a significant role in this development phase. Our expertise lies in the fast and efficient rough machining of molds, followed by precise form machining. A few weeks ago, we delivered our 10-meter, 5-axis machining center to TUSAŞ, and we are proud. We are making significant technological advancements by adding Industry 4.0 capabilities such as domestic production machining heads, overlay and obstacle technologies, smart tracking systems, and remote service to the machines we produce. We are confident that our success here will resonate in the automotive sector as well. In 2023, we will launch two new models. The first is a 1-meter diameter milling-turning machining center. We plan to launch this machine at MATEF Istanbul and EMO Hannover fairs this year. Our second new model is our horizontal milling machine. Both machines are designed to significantly reduce our country's import dependency.”
“We produce CNC machine tools for the automotive industry”
İğrek stated that they also cast and machine the bodies of their own design and production machine tools and said, noting that they cast and machine the bodies of their own design and production machine tools, İğrek said, “We design and produce locally-made, high-tech, large-size, high-speed, and high-precision CNC milling and vertical turning machine tools. Especially our bridge-type milling machine, with its 5-axis simultaneous machining capability, is designed and produced for the precise machining of automotive molds, aerospace parts, and the high-value-added processing of valuable materials such as cast iron, steel, stainless steel, titanium, and composite materials.”
