The new F-MT 4000 CNC turning, milling and drilling center worth around one million euros considerably improves the performance. The measure was supported with subsidies from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union. With an export rate of more than 80 percent.

Laempe Mössner Sinto GmbH continues to upgrade its production site in Barleben with about 250 employees. In recent years, beside the inauguration of new office and administration buildings in Barleben as well as a new laser cutting system (cost: 650,000 euros) also the facilities at the Schopfheim site (Baden-Württemberg) were modernized.

Increase productivity by a quarter while halving electricity costs

With the new investment, the company is further increasing its process efficiency at the Barleben site, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary of foundation  this fall: The new multifunction center enables larger and more complex workpieces to be processed in significantly less time. An increase in production of around 25 percent is expected, for example. Added to this is the significantly higher energy efficiency due to the reduction in power consumption by more than 50 percent. The new machine is also to be operated mainly with renewable energy from self-generated solar power.

"We are very pleased that we have once again successfully completed a funding project together with the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Here, the network of research, politics and business is exemplary in its focus on innovation. As is well known, knowledge is the only resource we have in Germany and this know-how, in combination with process excellence, becomes a real locational advantage," says a delighted Andreas Mössner, Managing Director of Laempe Mössner Sinto.

The company's wide product and service portfolio primarily includes complete solutions in core making technology for the foundry industry, from automotive manufacturers to ship engine plants and waggon construction. The heart of the company is the production of so-called core shooters, which produce molded parts that are subsequently reused for metal casting. Laempe is also one of the industry's pioneers in the future field of additive manufacturing using 3D printing.
In addition to core shooters, the family-owned company with around 300 employees at three locations offers a comprehensive product range for the entire core production with gassing equipment, sand mixers, sand preparation plants and core finishing solutions as well as networking and intelligent controlling systems.
