Laempe & Mössner strengthens its worldwide market leadership

System manufacturer from Schopfheim (Germany) overtakes machinery know-how as well as service and spare parts business of the insolvent company Hottinger Maschinenbau GmbH / Tight cooperation with Röperwerk Gießereimaschinen (Germany)


Barleben / Schopfheim, 2. September 2009. The Laempe & Mössner GmbH from Meitzendorf (Saxony-Anhalt) strengthened its position as worldwide leading supplier for machinery and systems in the field of core shooters. The company acquired, effective from September 1st the service and spare part business of the Hottinger Maschinenbau GmbH (in Insolvency) from Mannheim. Simultaneously, Laempe & Moessner arranged an extensive cooperation with Röperwerk RW-Gießereimaschinen GmbH in Viersen (Northrhine-Westfalia). Both companies will be working closely in the fields of development, production and distribution with immediate effect.

„With these steps, we will charge existing capacity more efficiently and achieve advantages in Research & Development and Purchase as well as in Production. Furthermore, we will optimize our worldwide distribution network to boost our position as global market leader”, says Werner Mössner, principal shareholder of Laempe & Mössner GmbH.

With the acquisition of the service and spare parts business of Hottinger Maschinenbau GmbH, Laempe & Mössner secures the spare parts supply for the customers of the insolvent company from the subsidiary in Mannheim across the world. In addition Laempe & Mössner purchased valuable patents and engineering data of the company with a long tradition.

Exchange of Technology through cooperation with Röperwerk

The cooperation between "Laempe & Mössner" and "Röperwerk" permits the achievement of synergistic effects in several areas. „Above all, Laempe & Mössner and Röperwerk will collaborate in developing new machines and systems, but also in Purchase and Sales. Furthermore, Laempe & Mössner gets access to valuable know-how in the field of low-pressure gravity die casting”, explains Mössner.

The cooperation between Laempe & Mössner and Röperwerk is the result of the buying of the company Röperwerk based in Viersen at the end of August 2009 by the “Mössner Vermögens- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH”. The „Mössner Vermögens- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft“ is principal shareholder of Laempe & Mössner.

Laempe & Mössner from Meitzendorf (Saxony-Anhalt) is worldwide leading supplier of machines and systems in the field of core shooters. Core shooters are being used in the foundry industry to produce sand cores to represent complex inner contours of castings. The product range includes the necessary peripheral equipment up to robot based core assembly lines. Part of the longtime customers are, amongst others, famous car manufacturers like BMW, Daimler, VW and Toyota as well as companies from other range of productions such as Buderus, Bosch or Hansgrohe.

The company owns today two facilities in Germany with a production area of 20.000 m² and around 300 employees as well as a worldwide network of partners (25 representations). Sales, Research & Development as well as Engineering are based at the location in Schopfheim. The turnout of the machines and administration is in Barleben-Meitzendorf (Saxony-Anhalt) located. The company generated a turnover of more than 55 million Euro in 2008.
