LIGHTWEIGHT CASTING (LEICHTBAU IN GUSS) 2019

DIGITIZATION AND DIFFERENTIATION AS SUCCESS FACTORS IN GLOBAL COMPETITION - 12.-13. NOVEMBER 2019 IN NÜRTINGEN NEAR STUTTGART

Reading time: min

Lighter, better, more efficient: For the thirteenth time now, Hanser Verlag is organizing the popular specialist conference, and invites foundry experts from all over Germany and neighboring countries to Lightweight Casting (Leichtbau in Guss) 2019 - this time held in Nürtingen, near Stuttgart.

A promising lecture program is also planned for this year, in addition to the highlight of the event: a factory tour in the Daimler foundry in Mettingen.

This year's conference has the motto, "Digitization and Differentiation as Success Factors in global Competition", and focuses on:

  • National and global challenges in foundry technology
  • Concepts with a future: materials and processes
  • Process simulation and monitoring

The lightweight design concept has always been an inherent part of German engineering. In order to sustainably strengthen the technological lead and to expand production in Germany, a high-wage location, it is important to use innovative solutions for more efficiency along the entire value chain. The progressive digitization as well as differentiating technological measures are essential success factors in global competition.

In 2019, "Leichtbau in Guss" will focus on the national and global challenges in foundry technology - lectures on China as a player and on product liability - will shed more light on this. On the other hand, the latest developments in process simulation and monitoring as well as innovations in materials and processes are presented. As a highlight, the participants can expect a visit to the Daimler foundry in Mettingen (subject to participation).

Among the speakers to be heard this year are: BDG Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Flow Science Germany GmbH, Fraunhofer ICGV, Institute for Materials and Joining Technology Otto-von-Guericke University Magde- Burg, Krämer + Grebe GmbH & Co. KG, RWP GmbH, TRIMET Aluminum SE and VW AG. With a presentation on product liability "Complaints - the right reaction of all involved" by Marcus Burkert, lawyer, partner of the law firm Schweizer & Burkert.

Further information about the conference as well as (from 28.06.2019) a preliminary presentation overview can be found online at www.hanser-tagungen.de/guss

The conference will be chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Volk and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hartmut Hoffmann (Chair of Forming Technology and Foundry Technical University of Munich).

The advisory board also includes: Dr.-Ing. Erwin Flender (MAGMA Foundry Technology GmbH), Dr.-Ing. Andreas Fent (BMW Group, Dingolfing), Thomas Heller (BMW Group, Landshut) Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lothar Kallien (Aalen University), Peter Wanke (Audi AG), Cesare Troglio (BDG Federal Association of the German Foundry Industry)
