MAGMA Engineering Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd on track for expansion

Reading time: min

During the last decade casting process simulation has become a mandatory tool for many foundries. They are able to solve their casting or tool design as well as process or production issues economically and in shorter lead times. Since 1993, MAGMA, market leader in foundry process simulation, has been serving the Asian-Pacific foundries with its technology as well as its process and product improvement tools. Today, the foundries’ demand for best-in-class software tools such as MAGMASOFT®, and competent engineering services is still increasing.

Therefore, MAGMA Engineering Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd (MAGMA Asia) in Singapore, the wholly owned subsidiary of MAGMA Giessereitechnologie GmbH, Germany, has decided to consequently follow its long term strategy to serve its customers locally with comprehensive services and own competent engineering personnel and is again on track for expansion.

MAGMA Asia has established its own wholly owned subsidiary MAGMA Engineering (Suzhou) Co. Ltd, in Suzhou, PRC. It is expected that this new entity will be fully operational early 2010 with further expansion plans within China in the future.

In parallel, MAGMA Asia has taken the additional initiative to change its liaison office in India – located in Hyderabad – into a full branch office, hence being able to offer MAGMA’s products and services locally in an optimized way.

To support these ambitious goals, MAGMA GmbH and MAGMA Asia are pleased to announce that Mr. Christian Kleeberg has rejoined MAGMA Asia as the future new “Group Managing Director of MAGMA Asia”, comprising the supervision of MAGMA's offices in Singapore, Suzhou (PRC), Hyderabad (India) and Seoul (Korea).

Mr. Christian Kleeberg was the former founding MD of MAGMA's Singapore office from 1996 until 2004 and spent the last 6 years with multinational corporations in Asia demonstrating an impressive track record in terms of sales and service implementation and corporate leadership. He will start officially with effect from 1st January 2010 and will become a minority shareholder of MAGMA Asia.

Mr. Christian Kleeberg

This decision underlines MAGMA's commitment for Asia–Pacific, in particular through:

  • MAGMA's premium software products and services with its new software generation now in the pipeline providing an unbeaten advantage for foundries in the region.
  • Furthermore, MAGMA's product and process engineering competence center providing technological know-how and product / process knowledge using its own development, engineering and optimization tools.
  • Additionally, MAGMA's training academy providing trainings not only on its own software products but also on other foundry related technologies to the industry.

All of the above will strengthen MAGMA's continuous expansion strategy to serve the Asian-Pacific foundries and casting users to fulfill MAGMA's long term commitment: “Where you find castings you find MAGMA”
