MAGMA
establishes subsidiary in the growing Turkish foundry market

Aachen, February 2010. MAGMA Giessereitechnologie GmbH, provider of casting process simulation software, has established a subsidiary that is situated in Istanbul and is responsible for Turkey, the countries around the Black Sea and the Middle East. The subsidiary MAGMA Bilişem ve Teknoloji Hizmetleri Ltd.Şti. will build on the strength of the growing Turkish casting industry. The WFO (World Foundry Organization) expects Turkey to become – next to Germany – the biggest casting producer in Europe within the next ten years.

With the expansion into the countries around the Black Sea and the Middle East, MAGMA is following its long-term strategy to be locally present with engineering manpower in addition to marketing software for casting process simulation. A broad range of services for foundrymen and casting buyers is just as much a part of MAGMA’s unique range of product offerings as the simulation software MAGMASOFT®. Today, there is already an active MAGMASOFT® user group that meets regularly in Istanbul. Moreover, the opening up of new markets by further introducing MAGMASOFT® into the neighboring countries is intended.

Operating from the Istanbul office, General Manager Marc Kothen and his team of engineers will support the current as well as future customers. Marc Kothen is a foundry engineer and has been with MAGMA since 2001. He has been responsible for MAGMA’s sales partner network for the last several years.
