MAGMA presents casting process simulation with MAGMA5 5.2 and MAGMA Core+Mold at Ankiros 2012

Reading time: min

The core product presented by MAGMA on its booth B132 in hall 3 at Ankiros/Annofer 2012 (13-16 September 2012) is the modularly structured simulation software MAGMASOFT®, shown in the new software generation for casting process simulation, MAGMA5. Through live demonstrations and presentations, the Turkish MAGMA team will demonstrate how casting process simulation with MAGMA5 can be used for optimization at all stages of casting manufacturing to contribute to foundry profitability. All presentations focus on practice-oriented topics for an optimized manufacturing of iron, steel, or non-ferrous cast components.

MAGMA will focus on the newest version MAGMA5 5.2 with extended capabilities for all cast materials and processes, introduce its new software MAGMA C+M (Core + Mold) for the simulation of the core production processes, and provide a view into the future of autonomous optimization of casting processes.

MAGMA5 5.2 offers numerous improvements and increased efficiency in evaluating simulation results. MAGMA5 Rel. 5.2 now allows the direct comparison of up to four different project versions in the result perspective. Filling, solidification and stress results can be animated in a synchronized mode. The geometry and all MAGMA5 results can be optionally displayed in 3D stereo using shutter or red/cyan glasses and to store them as 3D images or movies. Further improvements include, for instance, new result criteria, a new criterion to predict cold cracks, new criteria and procedures for simplified enmeshment, as well as new simulation capabilities for permanent mold, low pressure sand and low pressure die casting as well as die casting.

With the introduction of MAGMA C+M, the new program for core production simulation, the essential steps of the core manufacturing process can now be predicted and described virtually. Core blowing, gassing and the curing of organic and inorganic cores can be realistically simulated and, for the first time, simulated in a fully integrated process. Cold-box processes as well as core-making using heated core boxes are supported.

The team of MAGMA Turkey will be available during all days of the exhibition. We look forward to meeting you at our stand in hall 3, stand B132!
