"For several years, manufacturers have been competing. They want to offer machines that are not only faster and more accurate but also more economical," says Piotr Pawelec, the METAL Expo PM. "Ecology and lower consumption is also present in business discussions and at industry conferences organised in Poland and abroad. Machine manufacturers keep trying to outdistance each other in producing new ideas. This race is designed to result in the greatest savings and the lowest possible consumption of raw materials. The METAL 2024 will be a tipping point for many branches in this economy sector."
Energy-saving machines in Kielce have already been presented by, inter alia, AGRATI and KMA. Other manufacturers are announcing new and refurbished, more ecological versions of the already offered devices. The reason is simple - companies' representatives purport that energy consumption increasingly dictates purchasing decisions.
"We believe that ecology is the key development booster in the foundry industry. Ecology is directly related to energy savings, and thus makes foundry processes more efficient," says Christian Kurtsiefer, manager of KMA Umwelttechnik.
The good news is that the foundry industry, despite the general stagnation of the market, has no intention of slowing down; the latest METAL expo attracted about 200 exhibitors from 24 countries around the world, who used about 5,000 sqm of the exhibition space.
"The foundries we work with have huge investment plans. I am surprised that none of the large producers in Poland is afraid to invest. We mean serious, multi-million investments related mainly to the automotive market," says Przemysław Czapla from EUROCAST INDUSTRIES.
"We have participated in the Kielce METAL expo since the very beginning. Interesting meetings, both with regular customers and people looking for an opportunity to expand their offer, are guaranteed here" – notes Alessandro Betti, Export Manager at Agrati.
Ecology and related topics, and thus also energy savings, were widely discussed at the first Foundry Goes Green seminar, which will also be held during next year's METAL Expo. Increasingly popular Industry 4.0 technology and many other topical issues will also be discussed.
The need for change is significant. The foundry industry is one of the most important sectors in the economy, which makes the demand even stronger. Automotive and household appliances industries, but also construction, energy and design sectors, have the change on their agenda.
