Metal&Steel 2011 growth in size, reflecting growth in the Middle East metal and steel market

The longer term outlook for the Middle East steel and metal market is more promising than the rest of the globe. The steel industry makes up a fast paced and constantly evolving expansion over the next three years to meet the needs of a fast-expanding construction & fabrication sector in particular in Egypt & Saudi Arabia. By 2013, the regional finished product demand is forecast to grow to 85.5 million tonnes with raw steel production projected at over 50 million tonnes. This massive imbalance between supply and demand means that the business opportunities for those involved in the region's steel sector is immense.

Egypt drives growth in steel consumption in the upcoming years due to the booming construction and infrastructure spending will lift demand. Egypt's rapidly growing building and construction sector is expected to attract investments of around $7.3bn by 2015.

Nowhere is this more evident than at this year's Metal&Steel2011 Exhibition, the region's largest trade exhibition for steel, steel fabrication and metals works which takes place February 26-28, 2010 at Cairo International Convention Centre (CICC) in Egypt.
