89% of the exhibitors of this year's Metal & Steel intend to either increase or take the same stand size

However, apart from these good results, the high level of real interest was noteworthy and absolutely important given the difficult political climate across the region. Most of the exhibitors interviewed said that they had met competent trade people during the 3-day exhibition who were keen on starting and maintaining trade relations.

This clearly shows, once again, the distinguishing feature of the steel: despite the situation, this sector has always demonstrated it inexhaustible vitality. Companies, whether suppliers or customers, are always on the move around the region on people to meet, and not to miss out on the most important appointments. According to most of the exhibitors interviewed, during the 3 days they met competent people who were determined to enter into, and maintain commercial dealings.

The 2nd edition of Metal & Steel Exhibition registered during the three days 5688 visitors from 23 countries affected by the events of 25 January in Egypt, and achieving growth 38.9 % over 2010.

Egyptian visitors at the exhibition were: 4102, while overseas visitors totaled 1586 coming from the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Morocco, Lebanon, Tunisia,  Palestine, Kenya, Sudan, USA, Austria, Turkey, Germany, Italy, India, China, and UK.

Despite the significant percentage increase in attendance by Egyptian, absolute values remained at modest levels once again at this year's exhibition. However, there was a very positive tendency by Arabian and African trade people to extend their stay for several days. Particularly noteworthy are the figures for Saudi Arabia and UAE, two very promising markets over recent years, especially the former with its projects to exploit solar energy.
