Müller Weingarten in-house fair

Diecasting Technology Division displays its products and production capacity

Standing still means going backward. This is why the Diecasting Technology Division is working intensively to maintain the positive business performance achieved in recent years. Over two days, the division presented its portfolio of products and services to around 100 customers at an in-house fair in Erfurt, Germany. 

<font face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular" size="2">Why Erfurt? "Following the transfer of production from Esslingen to Erfurt, we wanted to clearly demonstrate the production potential of our Erfurt site to our customers. We were also able to present a number of completed major projects shortly before they were due for delivery," explains head of division Jürgen Lamparter. Examples include several die-casting machines for the Chinese-Japanese joint venture Shangan-Suzuki. "These OptiCast 2500 and 1750 systems are used to cast engine blocks for 4-cylinder engines as well as transmission and clutch housings." These engines are fitted in the globally successful Suzuki Swift.&nbsp;</font>

<font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular">Customers expressed great interest in the machinery on display. Many of the inquiries were directed at the intelligent peripherals solutions for dosing, spraying, unloading, cooling, deburring and sawing as well as the mold concepts. "Customers want complete systems from a one-stop shop," says Lamparter, describing the current market trend, adding that the division reacted to this development at an early stage by seeking out a competent moldmaking partner in the shape of Heck&amp;Becker. </font>

<font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular"></font><font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular">A further trend, according to Lamparter, is of course product innovations, which the division will be "letting out of the bag" next year at the GIFA International Foundry Trade Fair. </font>

<font size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, Geneva, Swiss, SunSans-Regular">Lamparter is pleased with this year's business performance. "We continue to enjoy success in the international markets. Even though we, like others, have to deal with massive price pressure, we are still able to expand our business profitably thanks to a wealth of new projects, especially in India and China."<br><br>Sales and order intake are both set to rise to around € 30 million. In fiscal year 2005, the division increased its sales to € 27.1 million and recorded an order intake of € 27.9 million.</font>
